Terms of Service

Last updated July 2026

The short version: you get one fixed price in writing before any work starts, and once the build is paid in full the website and the domain are yours.

Who you are working with

Websites are designed and built by Bennett Free, a sole proprietor doing business as Bennett Free Global, based in Napa, California. You work with me directly on every project.

What is included in a project

Each project is based on the scope, design direction, and business needs we agree on before work begins. That agreed scope is what gets built. Anything outside it is quoted separately and only started once you approve it.

Quotes and payment

  • You receive a fixed price and a timeline in writing before any work starts.
  • There is no hourly billing.
  • The one time build fee is due in full before the website is launched or transferred to you.
  • Larger changes or new features requested after launch are quoted and agreed separately.

The optional monthly service

Hosting, maintenance, and basic website changes are available for $20 per month. Basic changes means edits to text, images, and videos, plus fixes when something needs attention. You can request these whenever you need them.

This is optional. Entirely new pages, new systems, or similar work sits outside the monthly service and is quoted separately before anything begins.

Your domain name

If you already own a domain, you keep full ownership of it. If a new domain is registered for your website, the first year is included and it belongs fully to you. Renewal is typically about $12 per year, depending on the domain.

Who owns the website

Once the one time build fee is paid in full, you own the completed website and the design created for you. I do not retain ownership of your finished website after full payment.

Ending the service

Either of us may end the ongoing monthly service at any time after the build fee has been paid. If the service ends, everything included transfers to you as the rightful owner. That covers the website design, the website files or access where applicable, and the domain if one was registered for your project.

What I need from you

To finish your website I need accurate business information, along with text, images, logos, any login access required, approvals, and feedback. If those things are already available on your social media, an existing website, or another public source, I can usually work from there instead.

Delays in receiving what is needed will move the timeline accordingly.

Third party services

Some features rely on outside providers, such as Stripe or Square for payments, and providers for email delivery or text messaging. Their fees are paid directly to them, not to me, and their own terms apply to your use of those services.

What I can and cannot promise

I will build your website carefully and to the scope we agreed. I cannot guarantee specific business outcomes such as search rankings, traffic levels, or sales figures, because those depend on factors outside the website itself.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the fees you have paid for the project in question.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The version in place when your project is agreed is the one that applies to it. Individual projects may also be covered by a separate signed website services agreement, which takes precedence where the two differ.
